Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
obs_controller (provided by Steven B. Pence, DBA Hoversights) is a desktop application that runs on your own computer. This policy describes what data the Software handles and what we, as the maker of the Software, actually receive.
1. What stays on your device
obs_controller stores its configuration — connection details for your local OBS Studio installation, your media library folder, and your layer/shot layout — in a settings file on your own computer. This data is never transmitted to us. obs_controller talks directly to OBS Studio running on your machine or local network; we do not sit in the middle of that connection.
2. Bring-your-own-key features
Optional features such as AI-generated media require you to provide your own API key for a third-party provider (for example, Hugging Face). That key is stored locally in your settings file and sent only directly from your device to that provider when you use the feature — it never passes through, or is visible to, us.
3. Purchase & license information
Purchases are handled by our reseller, Paddle.com Market Ltd, who collects the billing information (such as name, email, and payment details) necessary to process your order and issue a license. See Paddle's Privacy Policy for how they handle that information. We receive only what's needed to validate your license — your email address and license status — not your full payment details.
4. Diagnostics
obs_controller does not currently send any automatic usage analytics, crash reports, or telemetry. If a future version adds an optional diagnostic-capture feature, it will be opt-in and clearly disclosed before anything leaves your device.
5. Changes
We may update this policy as the Software changes. Material changes (for example, adding any new data collection) will be reflected here with an updated date above.
6. Contact
